Level 1 – Children Beginner – Discover the joy of skiing
Designed for children trying cross-country skiing for the first time – or who have skied a little but want to build confidence in the basics. The focus here is on having fun and learning naturally through play. At Rondane Skisenter, children learn to ski through play, discovery, and enjoyment in the snow. For the youngest, play and security are the focus, while older children’s development is better suited to more technical and challenging elements. Our goal is for every child to gain confidence on skis, make friends, and experience skiing as fun, safe, and exciting.
Children will learn to:
- Balance and move with confidence on skis
- Glide smoothly both in and out of ski tracks
- Slow down and stop safely using the snowplow technique
- Descend and turn on gentle terrain
- Get up and put skis on independently
- Move confidently on flat terrain and small hills
Goal: Build confidence, improve technique, and enjoy skiing from day one.
