Nordic touring skis are generally intended for those wanting to ski a mix of on- and off-track trails. These skis are equipped with 1/2 or 3/4 length metal edges for control and stability when skiing away from tracked terrain. They are typically wider than cross country skis to provide better flotation in loose snow and can come equipped with integrated skins to provide better grip when travelling in steeper terrain.
These skis are set up with NNN bindings.
Ski length is determined according to body weight, height and experience. When choosing touring skis, you should add 10 to 15cm to your height. Heavier or more experienced skiers typically choose longer skis. Shorter skis are recommended for lighter or less experienced skiers. Recommended ski pole length is 30-35 cm less than the skier’s height.
